If you have questions about a youth's eligibility to shop, please call the Wearhouse at (206) 267-5185. Each youth will need a new caseworker referral to shop in 2009.
Treehouse services (with the exception of Educational Advocacy) are available to all children in King County with open DCFS case files – including children who live with their parents or relatives, as well as kids in out-of-home foster care.
Treehouse Educational Advocacy services are available to children living in out-of-home foster care anywhere in the state of Washington.
Attention, case workers: download a copy of our general referral form here. Return it as an attachment to referrals@treehouseforkids.org or or fax it to (206) 767-7773.
Referrals are valid for a full year, and are good for the Wearhouse, Little Wishes, Summer Camp, Tutoring and Coaching-to-College. Educational Advocacy requires a separate referral form.
For Educational Advocacy referrals, DCFS social worker should email a Treehouse Educational Advocacy Referral Form to Phoebe Sade Anderson, Educational Advocacy Coordinator, or fax a referral to Treehouse at (206) 767-7773.

College and Career Planning (206) 267-5142
Foster kids deserve to believe in and plan their own futures. College and Career planning helps foster youth in 6th – 12th grades explore career options, develop a plan for their future, and implement that plan step by step—with special attention to critical transitions (i.e. transition from middle school to high school.) Whether it’s pursuing a four-year degree, community college or a trade program, or embarking on working life, College and Career Planning gets foster youth on the right path.
Educational Advocacy (206) 267-5129
- Educational advocates work with families, social workers and schools to resolve difficult issues and protect students’ educational rights.
- We offer workshops for caregivers on being an effective advocate for your child in school.
- We are an information and referral resource for parents and caregivers.
Foster Care Fact
Foster youth are half as likely as their peers to enroll in college preparatory courses, even when they have similar test scores and grades.
